Giving Back, Celebrating Wins, and Bringing Our Community Together
At Mattenga’s, we believe strong communities are built through kindness, generosity, and meaningful connections. Every month, we’re grateful for opportunities to give back and make a difference in the neighborhoods we serve.
October was filled with wonderful moments as we supported local schools, educators, community organizations, and special events across San Antonio, New Braunfels, Schertz, and surrounding areas.
One of our biggest highlights was Pizza Fest 2026, where Mattenga’s proudly took home three 1st Place awards: Kids’ Choice, Judges’ Choice, and People’s Choice!
We also had a fantastic Halloween celebration filled with fun, pizza, and festive moments! Along with exciting community events, we celebrated strong sales and another successful month across our stores.
A huge thank-you to our hardworking team for their dedication and passion, and to our amazing customers for their continued love and support. Every milestone, celebration, and success is possible because of you!
Supporting Our Local Schools and Students
Education plays an important role in building stronger communities, and we are proud to support the schools and students who make our neighborhoods better.
This month, we provided a pizza donation to Pease Middle School in support of its Academic Improvement Program, helping celebrate students' hard work and encourage their continued growth.
We also sponsored lunches for Clear Spring Elementary School, SST San Antonio College Prep High School and Tom C. Clark High School, giving students and school staff an opportunity to enjoy a meal together.
Our support extended to Legend Point Elementary and Tex Hill Middle School, where we shared sponsored pizza lunches with their school communities.
We were also happy to provide a pizza donation to Stinson Middle School for its Skyhawk Magnet Ambassadors event, bringing students, teachers, and community members together.
Every school visit reminds us that even a simple meal can create meaningful connections and make someone's day a little brighter.
Celebrating the Everyday Heroes Behind Our Schools
Behind every great school is a team of dedicated people who work hard to create a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for students and staff.
We were honored to provide pizza donations for City Year San Antonio's and Brennan High School's Custodian Appreciation Day. This was our way of recognizing and thanking the hardworking custodians whose efforts often happen behind the scenes but make a lasting difference every single day.
We appreciate the people who help keep our schools running and are grateful for the opportunity to celebrate them.
Bringing Families and Communities Together
Some of the best community memories happen when neighbors come together to celebrate, connect, and enjoy time with one another.
We were excited to support The Impact Zone's National Night Out with a pizza donation, adding a little extra goodness to an event focused on bringing neighbors together.
We also shared pizza with United Kidz Academy for its Halloween Trunk or Treat celebration. It was a fun opportunity to help make the seasonal festivities even more special for families and children.
To continue spreading the Halloween spirit, we provided a pizza donation to John A. Sippel Elementary PTC for its Trunk or Treat event. We love being part of gatherings that create lasting memories for students, families, and the wider community.
We were equally grateful to support Love Where You Live, Wernli Elementary School and Our Lady of the Atonement's Youth Gathering with a pizza donation.
Supporting opportunities for young people to connect and grow is another meaningful way we can contribute to our community.
Recognizing Those Who Make a Difference
Strong communities are built by people who dedicate their time, energy, and compassion to serving others.
During Pastor Appreciation Month, we were grateful for the opportunity to support Agape Baptist Church and help celebrate the pastors who faithfully serve and care for their congregations.
We also had the honor of supporting organizations dedicated to raising awareness and providing encouragement during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Through pizza donations to WINGS, Three Oaks Hospice, and Pink Warrior, we joined in recognizing the strength, hope, and unity of individuals and communities affected by breast cancer.
We believe that showing support, sharing encouragement, and standing alongside organizations doing meaningful work are all important parts of giving back.
Spreading Smiles Beyond Our Neighborhoods
Giving back doesn't always have to happen at a big event. Sometimes, the smallest surprises create the biggest smiles.
Throughout October, we had a wonderful time visiting different hotels and surprising their hardworking teams with complimentary Mattenga's pizzas.
It was our way of showing appreciation for the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make guests feel welcome and cared for. Because sometimes, a simple pizza surprise is all it takes to brighten someone's day.
Pizza Fest 2026: Three Wins, One Amazing Community!
What an unforgettable day at Pizza Fest 2026! We’re thrilled and honored to have taken home three 1st Place awards!
🥇 Kids’ Choice
🥇 Judges’ Choice
🥇 People’s Choice
While these awards are an incredible achievement, the real highlight was celebrating our love for pizza with our amazing team and community!
A heartfelt thank-you to everyone who worked tirelessly behind the scenes and to all the wonderful people who came out to support us. These wins wouldn’t have been possible without you!
Halloween, Mattenga's Style
A little spooky, a lot of silly, and a whole lot of pizza! Our Mattenga’s crew brought their Halloween spirit with fun costumes, big smiles, and plenty of laughter!
A huge THANK YOU to our amazing team for making the celebration so much fun, and to our wonderful customers for all the love and support!
Great pizza, great people, and memories worth celebrating. That’s Halloween, Mattenga’s style!
Fresh Ideas, Stronger Teams, Greater Possibilities
Progress comes from being willing to learn, adapt, and think ahead. Throughout October, our leadership team came together to share ideas, explore opportunities, and strengthen the strategies that keep Mattenga’s moving forward.
Together, we're turning thoughtful conversations into meaningful improvements.
A Month of Giving Back, One Pizza at a Time
October reminded us that community impact is not always measured by the size of a contribution. Sometimes, it is found in a shared lunch, a recognized act of hard work, a celebration made more special, or a simple gesture that lets someone know they are appreciated.
From local classrooms and school events to churches, community organizations, and awareness initiatives, we are thankful to everyone who welcomed us and allowed us to be part of their special moments.
At Mattenga’s, our mission goes beyond making great pizza. It is about building relationships, supporting our neighbors, and strengthening the communities we call home.
Thank you to all the schools, organizations, educators, students, volunteers, and community members who continue to make a difference.
Here's to more meaningful connections, stronger communities, and more opportunities to share the love of pizza.
Because at Mattenga’s, giving back is always on the menu.
