Serving Our Community, One Slice at a Time
At Mattenga’s Pizzeria, we believe that pizza is about more than great food. It is about bringing people together, celebrating the people who make a difference in our communities, and finding meaningful ways to give back.
Throughout August, we were grateful for numerous opportunities to support local schools, organizations, businesses, families, and community groups through pizza donations and sponsored meals. From welcoming educators back for a new school year to fueling young musicians and supporting nonprofit organizations, every delivery was another chance to show our community that we care. Supporting Educators as a New School Year Begins
The start of a new school year is an exciting time, and we were honored to help kick things off with the educators and staff who dedicate themselves to serving local students.
Mattenga’s had the privilege of donating pizzas and serving 360 members of the Northside ISD team during their Back-to-School Convocation at the Northside Sports Gym. We are incredibly grateful to support the educators who inspire, teach, mentor, and encourage the next generation.
We were also proud to provide pizza donations for Comal ISD’s Back to School Lunch, hosted with support from our newest location at NB Marketplace in New Braunfels. It was a wonderful opportunity to welcome and fuel the educators and staff preparing for another year of serving local students and families.
At Harlan High School, we continued our commitment to supporting local schools by providing a sponsored pizza donation for their educators and staff. We are proud to be part of the community and appreciate the opportunity to recognize those who work hard every day to make a difference.
We also helped celebrate the educators at Garden Ridge Elementary by providing a pizza donation for the PTA’s Teachers’ Luncheon. Teachers give so much to their students, and we were happy to play a small part in giving them a well-deserved opportunity to enjoy lunch together.
We were also proud to provide pizza donations to Howsman Elementary School and Klein Road Elementary School. Supporting our local schools and the communities they serve is something we’re always happy to be a part of.
Investing in the Next Generation
August also gave us opportunities to support young people and help create memorable experiences for the next generation.
We were excited to provide lunch for the Youth Orchestras of San Antonio as they celebrated the beginning of their 50th season. Supporting young musicians as they learn, grow, and share their talents with the community is something we are especially proud to be part of.
We were also grateful to serve pizzas at the First Baptist Church San Antonio Youth Gathering, helping fuel a fun-filled event centered around fellowship, connection, and bringing young people together.
Supporting Organizations Making a Difference
Our community is strengthened by organizations that dedicate their time and resources to helping others, and we were honored to support several of them throughout August.
Mattenga’s was proud to sponsor pizza for Transplants for Children, supporting the incredible work they do for children and families in our community. We are grateful for the opportunity to stand behind organizations that make a meaningful difference in the lives of others.
We also made a pizza donation to the Hope Center Outreach Program. Their commitment to serving and encouraging members of the community is inspiring, and we were honored to contribute in a small way to the important work they do.
At the Corazon San Antonio staff retreat, we provided a pizza donation for the team behind the organization’s important community work. Good food and conversation can go a long way toward bringing a team together, and we were happy to help make their retreat a little more enjoyable.
We were excited to serve pizzas at the Oak Wood Church Women’s Retreat, where attendees had the opportunity to relax, connect, and enjoy time together. We hope our pizzas added something special to their gathering.
We’re also grateful to serve Hallmark University and were thrilled to see such a big order come our way! Thank you for choosing Mattenga’s and trusting us to be part of your gathering. We truly appreciate the support.
Supporting Local Businesses and Teams
Giving back means supporting the local businesses and teams that strengthen our community.
In August, we sponsored pizza lunches for Manco Structures, Simmonds Real Estate, Candlewood Suites, Epique Realty, Munters Corporation, Armortex, Westover Hills Church, Primway Dental, and Outside the Box Events. We were proud to treat their hardworking teams to a well-deserved meal and create opportunities to gather, connect, and enjoy a few slices together.
Supporting local teams and bringing people together over pizza is something we’re always happy to be part of.
Green Valley Brings the Spirit
What a night at Mattenga’s Schertz! We had a full house for Green Valley Elementary PTC Spirit Night, and we couldn’t be happier with the turnout. Thank you to all the families who came out to enjoy pizza while supporting Green Valley Elementary.
We’re grateful to partner with our local schools and be part of these special community events.
Growing Together in August
Great guest experiences start with a strong team behind the scenes. Throughout August, our leadership group focused on collaboration, continuous improvement, and strategic planning to strengthen our team and support long-term success.
Giving Back with Purpose
Every donation, sponsored lunch, and community event is an opportunity to say thank you, build connections, and support those making a difference.
August reminded us how fortunate we are to be part of such a giving community. We’re grateful for every opportunity to give back and be part of these meaningful moments.
