Pizza, Community, and Heart

November was an incredible month for Mattenga’s Pizzeria, filled with opportunities to give back, celebrate our local heroes, and share the joy of pizza with our community. From firefighters to students, athletes, and community organizations, we were thrilled to serve up hot, cheesy goodness to those who make a difference every day.

Honoring Our Heroes

Our Local Firefighters and Police Officers consistently go above and beyond to keep our community safe. This November, we made sure they felt our appreciation. We were thrilled to fuel the San Antonio Fire Crew with fresh pizzas, celebrating their bravery and dedication. Likewise, the Comal County Sheriff’s Office enjoyed a “pizza party for heroes,” because your service never goes unnoticed.

Special pizza deliveries also reached the Alamo Ranch Police Department, Schertz Police Department, Alamo Ranch Fire Department, Bracken Fire Department, and SAPD North Substation, including units #26, #40, and #45. These small tokens of gratitude serve as reminders of how much we value the tireless work they do every day. Supporting those who protect and serve is more than important—it’s essential.

Supporting Schools & Young Talent

We’re proud to serve as the Official Pizza Sponsor of the Alamo City All-Stars ABA Basketball Team for this season.

Students across the community also felt the love—Pease Middle School enjoyed a special pizza donation during their Family Movie Night, and Andy Mireles Elementary received fresh pizzas to brighten the kids’ day.

This month, we were also proud to support Eagle Scouts Troop 828, led by Colton Cook, as they completed their project at Davenport High School. Mattenga’s provided a pizza donation for the hardworking troop, celebrating their dedication, teamwork, and community spirit. Hard work and collaboration truly lead to success!

Giving Back to the Community

Community organizations were not left out. H.O.P.E. Ministries received a fresh pizza donation, helping to support those who uplift others every day. We also loved joining The Perfect Day New Braunfels team for lunch and sharing pizza with their amazing staff — every perfect day deserves a perfect slice! Furthermore, we donated pizzas to the Garden Ridge Lions Club for their Fall Bingo event and to the House of Prayer and Evangelism Ministry for their Thanksgiving grocery giveaway.

Fiesta Especial Spirit Night

We were thrilled to host the Fiesta Especial Spirit Night at our O’Connor location. Every order placed helped support Amanda Romero’s campaign for Queen of Fiesta Especial, raising funds for youth and adults with disabilities. It was inspiring to see our community come together to “eat with purpose” while enjoying delicious pizza.

Building Unbreakable Teams

Internally, this month also included our continuous and regular team meetings, where our leadership team aligned on strategy, operations, and future growth.

These sessions help us improve consistency across our stores, strengthen team communication, and ensure we are delivering the best experience to our guests and community partners. It’s part of our ongoing commitment to serve with excellence—inside and out.

Looking Ahead with Gratitude

November reminded us once again that Mattenga’s is more than a pizzeria—it’s a community partner, a cheerleader for local heroes, and a gathering place for joy. We’re honored to support firefighters, officers, students, athletes, nonprofits, and local leaders who make our neighborhoods stronger.

Here’s to another month of giving back with gratitude, purpose, and a whole lot of pizza love.
