Community, Gratitude, and Giving Back
As we close out December 2025, we’re reflecting on a season defined by gratitude, celebration, and meaningful community impact. From national recognition to local acts of care, this month reminded us why Mattenga’s Pizzeria exists—to bring people together and serve with purpose.
Celebrating a National Honor
We were proud to be recognized by Pizza Today with the Best Use of Social Media (Popular Vote) Award. This honor belongs to our community. Every like, share, comment, and word of support helped tell our story and amplify the good happening around us. Thank you for being part of our journey and helping us use our platform to uplift others.

Holiday Cheer and Togetherness
December wouldn’t be complete without celebrating the holidays together. Our Christmas season was filled with joy, laughter, and gratitude as we gathered with our team and community. As we look ahead to the New Year, we’re thankful for the moments shared and excited for what’s to come—especially with pizza on the table to ring in New Year’s Eve.
Serving Those Who Inspire Us
Giving back to seniors remains close to our hearts. This month, we were honored to share pizza donations with several senior communities, including:
Landon Ridge Alamo Ranch Assisted Living & Memory Care
Schertz Area Senior Center
Comal County Senior Citizens
Elvira Cisneros Senior Center
St. Matthew Catholic Church Senior Ministry
Each visit brought smiles, stories, and reminders that kindness and connection matter at every stage of life. These moments reinforce our commitment to honoring those who paved the way before us.
Supporting Local Businesses and Organizations
Community care also means supporting fellow local organizations and missions that make a difference every day. In December, we were grateful to:
Treat the team at Threading & Spa by Harman to a sponsored lunch, celebrating a local business rooted in care and service.
Provide lunch for the Create Healing Organization, supporting their ongoing work of bringing hope, healing, and compassion to the community.
Share a sponsored lunch with the teams at Sweet Gardenia Weddings and Farmers Insurance as a small way to say thank you for the work they do.
These partnerships reflect our belief that small gestures can have a meaningful impact.
Empowering Youth Through Sports and Education
We continued to support youth, students, and athletes across our communities through pizza donations and sponsorships, including:
Elite Texas Taekwondo Team
Alamo City All-Stars ABA Basketball Team (Official Pizza Sponsor)
San Antonio Patriots Basketball Team
Steubing Ranch Elementary School (Christmas party)
Coker Elementary School
From classrooms to courts and mats, we’re proud to fuel hard work, teamwork, and celebration with a shared meal.
Strengthening Our Team from the Inside Out
Behind every great guest experience is a strong, aligned team. Throughout December, our leadership team continued our regular internal meetings focused on strategy, operations, and long-term growth.
These sessions allow us to stay consistent across all locations, improve communication, and refine how we support both our team members and the communities we serve. Investing in alignment and leadership development is essential to how we deliver excellence—every day, in every store.
Looking Ahead
December 2025 was a powerful reminder that community impact isn’t measured only in numbers, but in moments—shared meals, warm conversations, and genuine connections. As we step into the new year, our commitment remains the same: to serve great pizza, support our neighbors, and continue giving back with intention.
Thank you for being part of the Mattenga’s family. We look forward to another year of care, connection, and community impact.
